We at the Canadian Athletes Now Fund congratulate Adam for being selected to carry the Canadian Flag.  Adam has shared his patronage of the Canadian Athletes Now Fund, and the Fund's  impact on helping him finance his own growth as an Olympian struggling to make ends meet.  "Without the funding I recieved preparing for the 2004 Games from the Canadian Athletes Now Fund, I would not be wearing the gold medal around my neck".  

Adam also has  a simlar belief as the CAN Fund that investing in our athletes does make Canada a better Country. "Sport is a wonderful thing because it allows you to give back," van Koeverden noted. "It makes things worthwhile when you see a young person’s face who gets turned onto something like paddling a kayak."
